I've been working on this site for 6 months, but a couple days ago I decided to start from scratch and make a high tech, low-tech look. The whole site is PHP powered, including the PHPBB forum. It's layout is very simple, yet there is enough content to keep you busy until I can release some more stuff (mostly more songs in the database and more information about the songs). With the idea of a forum comes the idea of abuse. Anyone that blatantly is not there to do anything constructive, but destructive will be banned not only from the forum, but the whole Mikwit.com domain. This is not meant to scare anyone, its only meant to tell the people who don't have anything better to do then mess with other peoples stuff to stay away. I really hope this can stay strong.

Yes, after a lot of struggling with hosts, backups, and the sheer torture of programming I have done the very simple. All of mikwit.com has now been converted to php, even the static pages. I have had this goal set for quit some time now, but have finally gotten around to doing it. The main reason I knew the switch was needed was basically for my own sake. It is very hard brute work to edit all the pages one by one when adding a new link, and php scripts solve all of that and more. Everything looks the same, it just has a backbone now.

I have had (as you might already know) a lot of trouble with keeping my free hosts in the past. All of them have either shut down and not informed me or some have changed their system and forced me to put up ads. I have found that both of these are unexcitable, so the only way I could see getting around them is to pay for my host. Now you might think that I'm crazy, but its only 25 cents a month, so its worth the money. And now knowing that I will have a reliable host for the next year I have done a good bit of reconstruction to mikwit.com. I have gotten rid of the sponsors section and added a button section. I have again gotten rid of the subdomains, redid the pictures, and am going to make the whole site PHP again.

Ok, I am almost done my science project for lit. and I really don't feel like doing anything with trebuchets again, but its so fun to know that you've designed / build something that not many people can make (a working mangonel (even though its not a true catapult due to the cup instead of sling, but it wouldn't work with a sling so I don't care)). So since I plan on making another one this summer for kicks I am going to make it old school. This means killing my own design from 7th grade, which if you didn't know is not the best design (I was 12 and I only had pictures to work off of. So yesterday I sat next to my huge white board and thought about the design and after a few tries I've done it. So now I'd like to introduce you to my new trebuchet design.

I know it's been a while since there has been any news about mikwit.com but there is now. I have just made the code for a links page (well actually I made it in January when i said I was integrating php, but I never had enough links. Hopefully I'll spend some time to go and put useful links in there and put it up. Also, I am thinking of making the news system php just for kicks(then maybe I can have it so you can post comments). I don't think it will happen any time soon though.

Yesterday after looking at many tutorials, reading articles, and look at the scrip of real programs, I have decided to make Mikwit.com have PHP scripts for some things. I don't know what this may lead to but i do know it is for the good of the site, and the good of me.

Well over the past couple days I've been tending to some personal business I feel is more important then updating, but over the next few days I think I might add some things to the Visual Basic Code library. I have also been thinking recently of adding a poll to the home page as well as comments to news articles.

Today and yesterday I have been working on makeing toolbar work more like a normal window. I have made nearly everything work. The only thing I can't make it do it make the window minimize when you click the programs block on the start menu taskbar.

You heard right, I am now finished with construction on mikwit.com (including the new news system). Of course there will be things added on in the future, but for the most part it is done. I hope you Enjoy it.
